
TORONTO – Nordstrom Inc. introduced on Thursday that it’s closing all its shops in Canada and chopping 2,500 jobs because it winds down operations within the nation.
The Seattle-based retailer has six Nordstrom shops and 7 Nordstrom Rack shops in Canada, which shall be closed by the top of June.
His e-commerce enterprise will stop operations on Thursday.
Nordstrom chief govt Eric Nordström mentioned the corporate is leaving Canada as a result of it sees no actual approach to make enterprise worthwhile within the nation.
The closure is effected by an order obtained by the Supreme Courtroom of Ontario pursuant to the Firms Creditor Agreements Act.
Nordstrom first introduced growth plans in Canada in 2012 and opened its first Calgary retailer on the CF Chinook Middle in September 2014.
