Twitter Inc plans to put off 50 staff within the social community’s product division within the coming weeks, information website Insider reported Wednesday, citing two individuals conversant in the corporate.
The layoffs, which come six weeks after chief boss Elon Musk reportedly advised staff there could be no additional cuts, may cut back the corporate’s workforce to lower than 2,000, based on the report.
Twitter didn’t instantly reply to a Reuters request for remark.
Musk took over Twitter in October and rapidly pushed by a collection of product and organizational modifications. The corporate rolled out the Twitter-verified blue tick as a paid service and likewise laid off about 50% of its staff.
Musk mentioned in November that Twitter was dealing with a “huge drop in income” as a result of advertiser withdrawals.
